On Monday we had the absolute privilege of stepping onboard the world’s best rated cruise ship.... Hapag Lloyd Cruises MS Europa 2.
We admit we did not know a huge amount about Hapag Lloyd Cruises before this week and later this week we'll bring you a roundup of who they are and why you should know about them. The moment we stepped on board the Internationally appealing MS Europa 2 from the German cruise line Hapag Lloyd Cruises we knew there was something special to tell you about.
Where to start? MS Europa 2 is the world’s best rated cruise ship according to the prestigious Berlitz Cruise Guide 2018. She is a luxury boutique ship that takes no more than 500 passengers at maximum capacity served impeccably by 370 crew members.
Consider MS Europa 2 along similar lines to Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn and Crystal. Every stateroom is a suite with the smallest suite available the Veranda Suite at 35 square metres and you'll find them filled with everything you'd expect from a luxury ship; separate living areas, walk in wardrobes, quality fixtures, soft fabrics, separate whirlpool bathtub and shower...oh and a free mini bar! In other suites you have a natural light bathroom where there is a full window looking into the bathroom, TV's in the bathroom mirror while you soak in a luxurious bath, Nespresso machines and even a portable phone so you and your loved ones can stay in touch around the ship.
The ship itself has 6 bars to enjoy - from the classy piano bar to the open air Sansibar...the lively Club 2 to the largest gin selection at sea in Collins. There are 7 restaurants and every restaurant are included in your cruise fare, so you can enjoy a different setting every day! From the buffet (as stylish a buffet as we've ever seen) to the 'main dining room' complete with the most astounding Medusa light fittings and international daily changing cuisine. Then whether it's Italian, Asian, Sushi or French that takes your fancy there is a restaurant option just for you on MS Europa 2.
The spa and fitness centre take up an impressive 100 sq. metres and thats only where the wow starts! With massage rooms, a hairdresser and a sauna area with not 1, not 2 but 3 different types of sauna available you'll soon be feeling total relaxation! There's a stunning indoor whirlpool looking out at the world but if you want a more personal experience you can have that too with a personal spa area complete with its own whirlpool, sauna, massage table and various ways to relax!! Thats not forgetting state of the art equipment in the gym, a class area for yoga, spinning and Pilates amongst others and you'll even be able to partake in yoga and stretch out on the deck looking out to sea as the sun rises.... stunning! With week 2 of CLIA's #choosecruise 2-month celebration focusing on sports and relaxation this really struck us.
There's so much more to tell you - there are golf simulators on board and there are special golf themed cruises where a PGA professional will escort you. The main pool deck is simply stunning with a retractable roof so no matter where you are in the world you can enjoy this beautiful space at any time of the day.
The whole ship is spacious and light, the onboard experience is casual not formal with no formal nights, no ties for men, no formal dining, eat where you like when you like with who you like and it's elements like this that set it apart from other luxury cruise lines...
Have a look and see for yourself! Come back later this week for more about Hapag Lloyd Cruises and MS Europa 2!
