Royal Caribbean have released these really useful infographics taking you through the cruise experience on board Quantum of the Seas in Singapore!
Royal of course resume in December with 8 all at sea sailings of 2, 3 & 4 nights each and this will be their first opportunity to put protocols in place based on the Healthy Sail Policy they worked on with Norwegian Cruise Line
As such you should expect these to be tweaked as sailings grow so don’t presume this would be your experience of you’re stepping onboard say Adventure of the Seas in May! But it gives us an early indication of what the experience will feel like...
💚 100% Fresh Ocean Air throughout the ship using the HVAC filter system is a brilliant thing!
💚 Muster 2.0 will be in operation which means your muster drill has just gone virtual! No big gatherings all huddled up on the promenade deck any more!
💚 No queuing at Shore Excursion and Reception desks as Virtual queuing will be in place ... we think this is a great thing!!
🤔 Face Masks on the pool deck ? This for us will put some people off! We cannot see people wanting to sunbathe or lounging on the pool deck in a mask! It’s not even that we think it’s off putting... you would have to wonder with physics distancing also in place whether it’s necessary?
🤔 Face Masks queueing for water slides .. but you can’t wear your mask on the water slide so... we’re not quite sure what you’re supposed to do with it!! (Don’t answer that!! 😂)
🤔 Some activities might be missing... understandably some things like street parties and karaoke may not be possible! We’ll watch and see with that one...
We’re very impressed with what Royal have put in place... while there may seem to be a lot of points on each graphic and a lot to take in so many of these things are seamless! For example soft serve ice cream will be manned by a crew member and given to you instead of helping yourself! This was the same when we were on in March and it’s really of no importance whatsoever!! So don’t be overwhelmed, a lot of these things will actually not even be noticeable or in fact just as you are experiencing on land!
There are a couple of things we would like to see ‘relaxed’ - mainly the use of masks outside where physical distancing is already in place! This might just be too much for some and we understand why to be fair...
DON’T COMPARE TO LAST YEAR - COMPARE TO LIFE AT HOME TODAY!
We do keep saying this but this is a new temporary... not the new normal! What you’re seeing here will not be in place forever and when you’re reviewing it try not to compare it to your cruise experience last year but instead compare it to your experience at home right now? Then ask the question would you rather be on board?
For us? Absolutely yes!! #TimeToGetOnboard
