THE CRUISE ROOM VIEW - EVERYONE IS AFFECTED!

It seems that Dublin Port Company are reviewing operations in order to afford more land to cargo operations, security and customs checking etc and all this is impacting on it's ability to entertain cruise ships. This isn't just about Brexit, this is also about profits.

We also know that there are many other fantastic ports across the country - Cobh is a stunning port and is an absolute credit to the country! Cobh and the people in Cobh are so welcoming to cruise ships with a second berth being worked on. Belfast is growing also and has been working on a proper cruise terminal. However this isn't really the point...

Dublin has more cruise calls than any other port in the country and Celebrity & Princess homeporting last year in Dublin and this year has been a massive step forward...not just for the entire cruise industry but last year alone brought €50 million into the local economy. Cruising can bring so much business into the country...from hotels to tourist attractions, shops to food suppliers, transport to tour guides.

Cruising is growing globally and more and more ports are opening up to cruise, working with cruise lines, working with governments and tourist boards - Dublins decision to go against the trend across the world may have a massive effect on all ports with cruise lines simply going elsewhere!

Why would they invest further in a country that doesn't seem to want to be working with them? There are plenty of other options out there and Ireland needs cruising more than cruising needs Ireland.
